The Annual Fund

Tuition only covers 84% of the cost associated with educating children at The River School. The Annual Fund campaign is conducted each school year to help close this gap and fund the daily operating expenses that are necessary to maintain our unique academic program.

When you visit your child's classroom, look around and everything you see in the room - easels, books, tables, educational materials, and the educators - is funded in part by the Annual Fund. All members of our community are asked to participate in this important effort and to give to the maximum of their ability. Last year 84% of River School families made a gift to the Annual Fund, raising more than $300,000.

Throughout the year, there are many opportunities for families to support the school, but the Annual Fund is the most important fund you can support. Because gifts to the Annual Fund directly support the educational program, we ask that it be the first gift you make each year.

2008-2009 Annual Fund Campaign Chair Eileen Silvergleid will be working with a committee of volunteers to raise this year's goal of $325,000. We are confident that together we can meet this goal and ensure the success and excellence of The River School experience.
