Hattie M. Strong Foundation Awards $6,000 Grant

The River School has recently been awarded a $6,000 grant from the Hattie M. Strong Foundation. This grant is in support of The River School’s science program at Discovery Creek. Due to space and time restrictions, The River School’s science teacher can only accommodate a limited number of classes each week. Thanks to the grant from the Hattie M. Strong Foundation, The River School is able to expand its science curriculum in scope and instruction time with classes at Discovery Creek. Students in the elementary class rooms participate in hands-on environmental science experiences at Discovery Creek’s facility on MacArthur Boulevard.
